Create a Business Website: What It Needs and How Much It Costs

← Back to blog

Let's cut to the chase: if you have a business and don't have a website, you're losing customers. Simple as that.

I'm not going to give you the typical "digital world" speech and blah blah blah. I'm going to tell you things straight, what you actually need and what it's going to cost. No beating around the bush.

Why do you need a website? (The short version)

When someone searches for a service like yours, where do you think they look? Exactly: on Google. And increasingly, on AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot.

If you don't have a website, you don't show up. And if you don't show up, you don't exist for that potential customer who's right now searching for exactly what you offer.

92%
of consumers search on Google before contacting a business

But there's something else most people don't know: AIs also search for information on websites. When someone asks ChatGPT "do you know any company that does X in my city?", the AI searches for that information on the internet. If you don't have a website, it won't recommend you. Period.

What should a business website have?

You don't need a huge website with a thousand pages. In fact, to start, less is more. What's important is that it has these elements:

1. Responsive design (looks good on mobile)

This is non-negotiable. 65% of searches are done from mobile devices. If your website looks terrible on phones, users leave in 3 seconds. Literally.

2. Basic SEO (so Google can find you)

SEO isn't black magic. It's things like having clear titles, well-written descriptions, decent loading speed and content that answers what people are searching for. Without this, you could have the most beautiful website in the world and nobody will see it.

3. Structured data (Schema.org)

This is more technical, but very important in 2026: these are code snippets that help Google and AIs quickly understand what you offer, where you are, how much your services cost, etc.

💡 Structured data allows AI assistants to find and recommend your business when someone asks about services like yours.

4. Clear information

What you do, who you do it for, how to contact you. Seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how many websites don't even make clear what they sell.

5. Contact form or WhatsApp

Make it easy to contact you. A WhatsApp button, a simple form, a visible phone number. The easier, the better.

How much does it cost to create a business website?

Here comes the million-dollar question. And I'll be honest with you:

Starter Website

From €697 - A professional landing page with everything you need: responsive design, basic SEO, contact form and mobile-optimized. Ready in 48-72 hours.

Business Website

From €997 - Up to 5 pages, custom design, more advanced SEO, social media integration. Ready in 5-7 days.

Think it's expensive? Consider this: how many customers do you need to get to pay off that investment? Probably one or two. And a website will last you years.

📋 Plus, these are 100% tax-deductible expenses for freelancers and businesses. So it actually costs you less than it seems.

Your website can grow with you

You don't need to start with a giant website. What matters is being visible. Presenting yourself. Having people find you.

Later, your website can grow and adapt to your business:

The most important thing is to take the first step. Be there. Exist on the internet.

AI chatbots: easier than you think

Something I highly recommend to my clients is AI-connected chatbots. They sound very futuristic, but they're actually quite accessible.

What can they do?

They understand natural language (you can talk to them like a person) and can be trained to do exactly what you need. And again: they're tax-deductible expenses.

Your website is your business card

In the end, the most important thing will always be the service or product you offer. The treatment. How customers perceive you. No website can replace that.

But your website is your business card. It's the first impression many customers will have of you. And in a world where people search on Google and ask ChatGPT, not having a website is like not existing.

🤖 Even though people use ChatGPT and other AIs, remember that all that information comes from websites. Without a website, AIs have nothing to say about you.

So yes, creating a website for your business is a good investment. Probably the best one you can make for your online visibility.
